While her shy friends began hiding in the bathroom during their lunch breaks and skipping school altogether, she stood tall. After discovering that her friend could lend her Cosmopolitan magazine every month, she continued on to read about sex positions and menstruation. In sex ed class, SaBrea focused on how to use protection, and she discussed the stigma around it. "I became so comfortable being 'the girl with information,'" she says. One day, SaBrea was at an event when a casting director asked her to participate in a runway show. It would be her first modeling gig, even though she hadn't done much preparation beforehand. "After that show, it opened the door for other work," she says. "From time to time, people would ask me to stand in because I would just put together a beautiful outfit." SaBrea had a natural confidence and knew how to dress well, all with a pinch of her personality. Eventually, her friends would ask for tips on what to wear to an event or to a special dinner. "I got some bragging rights on that," she says. "But after a while, the 'talk to my friends' part got exhausting. I felt like, okay, this is taking up too much time in my life." Looking through fashion magazines, she stumbled upon an old issue featuring Kim Kardashian. She was impressed, studying the gorgeous models who had appeared alongside her.
